Our Aim
KWETB Adult Guidance Service aims to make a real difference to people’s lives by enabling them to set new goals and to find ways to reach their potential. We seek to provide a client-centred, comprehensive and holistic Guidance Counselling Service, delivered on a one-to-one, group or outreach basis.
We understand that returning to education or entering the workforce can be difficult, especially if your previous experiences were not positive. Our Adult Guidance Service encourages you to re-evaluate your existing strengths and abilities, as well as looking at ways to develop new skills.
The focus of the Adult Guidance Service is to offer educational and career guidance counselling not just to second chance learners, and those who have perhaps encountered barriers to progression through their career, but to anyone who is looking for a change of direction. We know that there are many people who may not have completed school or did not gain a Leaving Certificate, who now hope to go on to further study. We can help that become a reality.
You may be in a job where you feel frustrated or unfulfilled, or perhaps you have been out of the workplace for some time. You may be looking to gain new skills or to retrain in a different field. We can find options that will work for you, taking into consideration your current circumstances and any concerns you may have.
Kildare & Wicklow ETB
KWETB offers a range of Further Education and Training ( FET ) options. FET includes Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Skills Courses, Community and Adult Education, and core literacy and numeracy services. We offer a wide range of courses: certified and uncertified; full-time and part-time; daytime and evening. Our FET Centres provide our students with a friendly and supportive learning environment, up-to-date facilities and the latest digital technology. Class sizes are small and learning support is available to help you meet your goals.
A FET course with Kildare and Wicklow ETB offers you a chance to build your skills and confidence, develop your employability skills, take the next step towards further and higher education, or retrain in a new field. We offer one-to-one appointments in our centres located throughout Kildare and Wicklow. We can support you to make informed decisions about your future by taking a step-by-step approach to achieve your goals.
